In 2002, Sylvan embraced Christianity and began his spiritual journey at St. Kakumba Chapel, where he later served faithfully as Prayer Coordinator. In 2008, Sylvan travelled to the United Kingdom to participate in a transformational discipleship and leadership training program (FORM) at St. John’s Church in Woodbridge, Suffolk. Upon returning to Uganda, he has held several key ministry positions, including Youth Pastor at St. Andrew’s Church Bukoto, National Youth Alpha Course Coordinator, and Missions & Discipleship Coordinator with the Church of Uganda.
Sylvan is married to Mirius, and they have three children: Michelle (13), Nehemiah (5), and Sean (21 months). They are also expecting their fourth child shortly.
Sylvan is settling into his new role as Chaplain of FOP. He has recently changed the Sunday fellowships to include Children’s Church with age-appropriate Bible lessons and worship and a separate Adults’ Church fellowship focused on spiritual growth for caregivers and staff.
