Already in the 1st sub-county (Kanyegaramire) over 1200 mums have been delivered of their babes with a 100% safety record for both mum and baby. On 29th March saw the launch of an Antenatal programme in the 2nd sub-county (Batalika) seeking to identify at an early stage of pregnancy those mothers especially at risk. Out of 150 mothers who turned up for this inaugural outreach clinic, 98 of them turned up at a clinic for the very first time, most of them being over 5 months gestation but without a single antenatal check thus far! This is such a major step forward for this programme for which we all are truly thankful.
