One of our Trustees Anne Basabe was at the funeral to represent FOP UK. The following statement was read by Anne:
“It is with the deepest sorrow, and yet the greatest privilege, to stand on behalf of Fountain of Peace UK and to convey our heartfelt grief for the loss of dear George Ruharuza. For all the trustees and very many supporters of this work in the United Kingdom we stand united in sending our most sincere condolences to Keziah and all the family, not only here in Uganda, but around the world.
George is, and always has been, to all who knew him, a wonderful ambassador for His Lord and Saviour. Never ashamed of his faith in God and never holding back in saying what he believed in, we deeply mourn his loss today. We are so conscious of his deep desire to see the work at St James' Church completed, yet His Lord has seen fit to take him to Himself at this point. It is our belief that Heaven is rejoicing today at a work well done for the glory of God. The work that George embarked on all those years ago, along with his beloved Keziah, has already been completed to the total satisfaction of God.
We stand in awe at the testimony so faithfully held by God's servant George, and give the greatest thanks and praise for the honour brought to God's name through George's Life here on earth. It is our conviction that Heaven rejoices over welcoming a faithful servant home to glory.
Paul assures us that "being with Christ is far better". A life well lived, a race well run, a crown of glory for him. Well done, good and faithful servant!”
