Work alongside Local Authorities

The Fountain of Peace Children’s Foundation is just one of only a few officially registered babies’ homes in the Kyenjojo District. Sadly there is no shortage of children in need of our care here.  We work exclusively with local approved authorities (Social Services and/or Police) and are often the first to be contacted by them when there is no one able or willing to care for a child.  We work to provide a long term home for these critically vulnerable children.

Every case is tragic, but FOP is there to provide help in exactly these circumstances.  A rigorous assessment process is implemented by the authorities to investigate every case before a child is legally registered into our care. Our one aim is to provide a child with a stable, secure start in life.

Many of our children have been orphaned as a result of maternal mortality and many others come to our care because the brutal poverty in the area means their families simply cannot afford to care for them. If there is no one else to provide for the child, we are always willing.
